Costa del Azahar

View Properties

The Costa del Azahar is bordered by the city of Valencia in the north (a vibrant city and port, hosting the Americas Cup 2007) and the Costa Blanca in the south and is a region of great contrasts. Pine covered hills dotted with charming authentic villages, rugged mountains and golden beaches abound here and of course the abundance of orange groves explains why this region is often called the "Orange Blossom Coast".

The area is popular with Spanish families who enjoy the safe, sandy beaches particularly at Peniscola, Alcossebre and Oropesa and the Costa del Azahar boasts 22 Blue Flag awards for the high quality of the sea water and beaches.

The coastline is surrounded by inland areas of natural beauty: the Maestrazgo region is fringed by the unspoilt mountain range of the Sierra de Irta, and to the north lies the Natural Park at Delta del Ebro.

Costa del Azahar has excellent connections by land and air: the airport at Valencia is now served by many UK operators including British Airways, Ryanair and Easyjet. The coastline is well served by the A7 auto-pista and the N340 roads both connecting with Alicante and Barcelona and there is an efficient rail system.

The Costa del Azahar is a truly Spanish area well worth discovering — whether you are looking for a coastal holiday property, a permanent home or wish to immerse yourself in the Spanish countryside, you will find excellent value for money properties where you can soak up the Spanish way of life and culture.
