Pensions

Pensioners

You can arrange for your State and Private Pensions or Widows Benefit to be paid directly to your Spanish Bank account if you wish. Payment will be made every 4 or 13 weeks in arrears.

With regards to paying tax on your Pensions, depending on your financial circumstances then you may still have to pay tax on what you receive, however if you worked for any UK Government or civil service department, Police Force or Armed Forces you are not liable to pay tax.

All monies received from the UK to your Spanish account will have to be included in your annual tax declaration to the Spanish Authorities. You are legally bound to submit a tax declaration and your Fiscal Representative/Lawyer can advise you on this.

You will need to contact the Overseas Pension Group on 0191 218 3323 to arrange for your State Pension to be transferred to Spain. They offer a very good rate on euros and there are no bank charges.
